Disability Agenda Issue 2.1 - Built Environment Accessibility
Built Environment Accessibility - The Irish Experience
Accessibility of the built environment is a key factor in people with disabilities achieving greater independence, participation and social inclusion. An inaccessible built environment affects all members of society. However, for people with disabilities the barriers to equal participation due to an inaccessible built environment are much greater.
This issue of Disability Agenda examines the extent and nature of how built environment accessibility has been addressed in the Irish context.
