The National Disability Authority has a statutory function to advise the Minister on appropriate standards for programmes and services to be provided to persons with disabilities and to act as an advisory body with regard to the development of general and specific standards in relation to such programmes and services.

The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design at the National Disability Authority contributes to the development and promotion of standards in Universal Design. A key part of our standards work is collaborating with key stakeholders and national and international standards bodies.
